Personal Note - 1/27/19

Pastor’s Corner 01 27 2019

At the time of this writing (01-23-2019), I am about 17 hours away from surgery on my neck; …
more precisely, the C-3 and C-4 vertebrate. Compared to my previous neck surgery in 2012, this
should be a walk-in-the-park! Having said that, no cutting on the human body comes without risk
… yet, isn’t it amazing what science, through the Hand of God, can do, now!
These surgeons work with such skill, … it is hard for a lay person, such as myself, to grasp.
We think this is amazing, … approaching miracle status, … what those precision hands can do
… but how much credit do we give to the Hands that invented their hands?
“For it was You who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
(Psalm 139: 13)
Our Holy God conceived of those hands before they even took form! Without God, there would
be no neck to work on, … no hands to initiate the healing.
Just today, I was given the news of a person on our prayer list that was soon to begin treatment
for cancer. Yes, … the big “C” word. Cancer that was diagnosed to be in the lymph glands
already. She was scanned yesterday … and the result was; … no sign of cancer at all!
Was this a misdiagnosis … or was it the healing power of God through the many prayers that had
gone up for this individual?
I will accept this as a miraculous healing of God.
Why doesn’t this happen every time we pray for someone in dire circumstances?; … I simply
don’t know but this does not take away form God’s ability to heal and our faith in Him as the
ultimate healer.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.” This is the Lord’s
declaration.” (Isaiah 55: 8)
I am just one of thousands that will be experiencing the surgeon’s knife this week and there is
only one God to oversee all of that … but I praise Him and worship Him for all He is in my life
… and what He offers to all who would listen.
“For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who
believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3: 16)
This is the real healing; … the healing of our perishable bodies and this diminishing planet … so
that we can be in His presence for eternity.
With that assurance, I / we, can face anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your servant in Christ,
Pastor Jim
